Marshall Ryegrass can be used as a cover crop, forage, or hay production. Marshall Ryegrass establishes rapidly, which makes it an excellent choice for soil protection and weed management. Marshall Ryegrass has a moderate tolerance to wet soils and temporary flooding. Marshall Ryegrass adapts well to various soil types, where little preparation is needed for rapid germination. In trials, Marshall Ryegrass has shown superiority to Gulf Annual Ryegrass in both cold tolerance and tolerance to close grazing, especially in the north.
